Malibu locals love their farmer’s market. Complete with handcrafted products, fresh foods, and ethically sourced foods, this little gem should be on your must-see Sunday activities. Open from 10 am to 3 pm, the Malibu Farmers Market is behind the Malibu Country Mart at 23555 Civic Center Way.
Here are some of the vendors you can see each week at the Malibu Farmers Market:
Sharon’s Heavenly Cobblers
With a simple beginning with divine peach cobbler, Sharon’s Heavenly Cobblers is now a staple at the Malibu Farmers Market. Vegan? Gluten-free? Perfect! Sharon’s Heavenly Cobblers has both options available to you.
Vita Juice
In addition to cold, pressed juices, Vita Juice also sells milks and lemonades. What makes Vita Juice better than other companies? They include centrifugal, which helps nutrients in the juice stay active for up to a week longer than juices made without it. Whether you want a green juice, chocolate organic almond milk, or black lemonade, they have you covered.
Malibu Soap and Candle Company
Looking for something other than a treat to eat? Try these organic soaps and soy candles. The owner makes them without paraffin to reduce toxins that can cause cancer. Although the scents are limited, the soaps sell quickly. As an added bonus, 25% of all sales are donated to City of Hope, which researches cures for cancer.
Livia’s Kitchen
Cookies, cookies, cookies – but of the vegan and gluten-free varieties. One of the best-selling is the vegan peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Not everyone that buys these cookies is a vegan – but those standing in line swear they are better than any cookie they’ve ever eaten.
Aliki’s Greek Taverna
If you like Greek foods and condiments, you can’t go wrong with this vendor. They sell olives, hummus, dips, fresh lentil salad, Greek salad, and appetizers.
In addition to these vendors, many others come to the Malibu Farmers market to sell their wares. Located next to campus, students love to buy local and support their community.
